In a shocking case, a woman from Zimbabwe rescued her toddler from a crocodile by jamming her fingers up the reptile's nose. Yes, you heard it right...the courageous mother saved her child from the creepy animal.

The woman has been identified as Maurina Musisinyana, 30, who had left her two children playing under an umbrella on the bank of the Runde River while she went fishing nearby. She suddenly heard a scream and saw her three-year-old son Gideon, being dragged by a huge reptile.

As per The Mirror report, Maurina, who rushed back to the river bank to save her child, jumped on the crocodile and wrestled with the animal by sticking her fingers up its nose, forcing it to relax its grip on the boy while she used her other hand to free him. Within minutes, she was able to get her son away, before the crocodile could have managed to bite her hand and her child.

While speaking about the incident, Maurina, said: "I pressed its nose hard, a tip I learnt from the elders long back. If you suffocate a crocodile from its nose it loses its strength and that is exactly what I did. I used my other arm to free my baby's head from its jaws. Even to this day, I still do not believe I rescued my son."

After being rescued, the boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, who suffered facial injuries and bleeding. He is currently out of danger.

Meanwhile, the Runde River in Zimbabwe is infested with crocodiles that can grow up to 20 feet in length, reports The Mirror.
