As coronavirus cases are increasing across the globe, Indian-origin Miss England 2019, resumed her career as a doctor in the UK. Miss England has been identified as Bhasha Mukherjee, 23, who is from Derby and holds two different medical degrees.

As UK has become the worst hit countries in the world, with multiple deaths and cases on rise, Bhasha said that she needed to be back home, serving her people. While speaking to CNN, she said, "I wanted to come back home. I wanted to come and go straight to work".

“I felt a sense of this is what I’d got this degree for and what better time to be part of this particular sector than now. It was incredible the way the whole world was celebrating all key workers, and I wanted to be one of those, and I knew I could help. There’s no better time for me to be Miss England and helping England at a time of need,” she added.

As per a Hindustan Times report, Bhasha received messages from her former colleagues who told her of the situation at hospitals. Soon after that, she contacted the hospital’s management and urged to return to work.

Despite holding two different medical degrees, she is also fluent in five languages and has an IQ of 146. She was born in India, while her family relocated to the UK when she was nine year old.

Looking at the recent updates, UK reported a record 786 new COVID-19 deaths in its daily rise. The country so far has recorded more than 50,000 coronavirus cases till date.
