Amid lockdown in countries across the world, the Malaysian government have urged women to wear make-up and avoid nagging their husbands during the coronavirus lockdown. The Malaysian government introduced these measures to make life easier for men and women under the coronavirus lockdown.

As per a News18 report, after a national lockdown on March 18, the Malaysian government issued a series of infographic coronavirus advisories for women. There were online posters, issued by the Ministry of Women and Family Development had a variety of tips for women on how to deal with the lockdown and ensure a happy home life with their husbands or partners and avoid arguments and discord.

One poster showed a picture of a couple hanging clothes together with a caption that read as women to 'avoid nagging' their husbands. While another poster advised women to put make-up on and dress in smart clothes rather than casuals while working from home.

The posters were released on social media with the hashtag #WomenPreventCOVID19. These  posters sparked anger and mockery online where women called the posters deeply sexist. People on social media lashed out stating that is this how coronavirus can be removed?

Soon after the uproar and outrage, the Malaysian government issued an apology and removed the posts from their social media handles."We apologise if some of the tips we shared were inappropriate and touched on the sensitivities of some parties," the ministry said in a statement.
