Italy Records Almost 1,000 New Coronavirus Deaths, Highest In A Single Day
Home > News Shots > World newsIn a sad and shocking case, the number of people who have died of the deadly coronavirus in Italy has risen to 969 in a single day. It was the biggest daily jump since the outbreak.
As per Italy's Civil Protection Agency, the total number of deaths now stands at 9,134, which is more than any other country that has reported so far. While in the past day, there was an increase of 4,401 coronavirus cases.
According to a CNN report, the total number of coronavirus cases in Italy, including deaths and those who recovered, stands at 86,498. In which 969 toll includes 50 deaths that were not included in Thursday's update.
Last Saturday too, the country seen the highest number of deaths, when there was an increase of 793. Ever since the outbreak, 51 doctors who tested positive for the virus have died, confirms the Italian Association of Doctors.
Meanwhile among all the chaos, a 101-year-old man was released from the hospital after recovering from the coronavirus.
