Watch: Heartbreaking footage of Gorillas grieving for their dead

It is common to see humans grieving for their loved ones who have passed away. But I'm pretty sure, you would have not seen animals doing the same. Also, sometimes it goes without saying that animals grieve for their dead in a more human like manner and there is proof for it.

A video has gone viral, where gorillas are seen grieving for their dead and have funerals for them just like humans do. This moving footage is taken in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, where a young mountain gorilla was seen touching and gently grooming the body of his mother. While other gorillas stand around the other body by protecting it.

In the video, the group is sitting close to the body and staring at it, while others are seen sniffing, poking, grooming and licking it. The gorillas, which died were named as Titus, a 35-year-old dominant adult male and Tuck, a 38-year-old dominant adult female.

According to Daily Mail, the researcher's who filmed the video, were surprised to see that a young male gorilla, remained close to the body for two days and even slept in the same nest with it. He was also observed lying and sitting on her corpse, staring at her face, and gently trying to move her head with his hands.

I am sure, this communal behavior by the gorillas would have warmed your human heart.
