Fearing Coronavirus, Footballer Kills his 5-year-old Son!
Home > News Shots > World newsCevher Toktas, a Turkish former top-tier soccer player recently confessed for having killed his 5-year-old son who was being treated in the hospital, after developing symptoms of COVID-19. Later the boy tested negative for the infection.
Cevher Toktas, confessed for having committed the crime to the police. He had said that he had smothered his son, Kasim with a pillow on May 4. The boy’s death was not initially suspected to have been a murder by the police. Toktas is reported to have felt guilty after 11 days, because of which he turned himself in to the police. He also stated that he committed the murder since he did not love his son.
Kasim was admitted to a children’s hospital on April 23, after he developed a cough and a high fever. He was suspected to have COVID-19 and was hence kept in isolation, with his father. Soon after his father smothered him with a pillow, his father had called the health officials for help, stating that his condition had gotten worse. The boy was immediately rushed to an intensive care unit. Unfortunately, the boy died two hours later.
