Donald Trump Accuses WHO of Bias Toward China, Talks of Cutting US Funding!
Home > News Shots > World newsPresident Donald Trump on Tuesday accused the World Health Organisation (WHO) of bias toward China during COVID-19 pandemic and talked of cutting US funding to the global body.
“We’re going to put a hold on money spent to the WHO,” said Trump as per a report by Hindustan Times. However, minutes later during the same press conference, he said: “I’m not saying I’m going to do it. We will look at ending funding."
The United States is the biggest funding source of the World Health Organisation.
Trump's comments built on an earlier statement on Twitter in which he said the WHO is "very China-centric."
"The W.H.O. really blew it. For some reason, funded largely by the United States, yet very China-centric. We will be giving that a good look. Fortunately, I rejected their advice on keeping our borders open to China early on. Why did they give us such a faulty recommendation?" Trump tweeted.
