Home > News Shots > World newsOver 6,000 tourists travelling in an Italian cruise ship were confined in lockdown after a Chinese couple on board fell ill, increasing fears over the terminal Coronavirus, reports India.com.
Three doctors and a nurse were summoned onto the Costa Crociere cruise ship at the port of Civitavecchia near Rome to attend to a couple after the woman was running a fever.
They were soon shifted to a private ward and an emergency was announced, locking down the tourists on board.
The couple had travelled to Milan from Hong Kong in China on Saturday before subsequently boarding the ship. Although the husband did not exhibit any indications, samples have been collected from both and sent to forensic for testing the virus.
