J & J’s New ‘Vaccine Cures COVID-19’ with ‘Just One Shot’ in Phase II – Captivating Details!
Home > News Shots > World news Amid several countries racing towards finding the coronavirus vaccine, the Johnson & Johnson’s experimental vaccine has performed exceptionally well. While the other vaccines need to be injected several times to curb the virus, this vaccine has cured animals off of COVID-19 with just one shot!
Hence, this vaccine does a successful job of preventing subsequent infection in non-human trials and neutralises the antibodies. This vaccine is also known to provide a complete or near to complete protection against COVID-19 in the animals’ lungs. These findings have been published after tests were carried out on monkeys as well.
“The findings give us confidence as we progress our vaccine development and upscale manufacturing in parallel,” said Paul Stoffels, the chief scientific officer.
Almost all the non-human primates that were injected with the vaccine, showed no detectable virus in their respiratory tract, except one which showed very low levels of the virus in the nasal swab. The phase III human trials is yet to kick-start. It is expected to begin in September and positive results are expected.
In July 2020, several countries have made tremendous progress in developing a vaccine to battle the novel coronavirus infection. The University of Oxford has started clinical trials, and so has Covaxin in India. Similarly, Russia had revealed that it has almost completed human trials.
