Coca-Cola Co. is keeping a close eye on the steady-growing marijuana drinks market for a possible entry, which would take the world's largest soft-drink manufacturer away from sodas.

According to a report in BNN Bloomberg, Coca-Cola Co. is in "serious talks" with Aurora Cannabis Inc. to develop marijuana-infused beverages, a move that would indicate a significant venture in the marijuana sector, sources told Bloomberg.

As per the report, sources said that Coca-Cola intends to develop drinks that would be infused with cannabidiol, the non-psycholazy chemical found in marijuana plants. However, unlike other previous deals between alcohol makers and marijuana producers which aims at making drinks that intends to give a 'high' similar to the intake of marijuana, Coca-Cola and Aurora seek to develop drinks to ease inflammation pain and cramping.

While the sources say the talks between Coca-Cola and Aurora are ongoing, there is no guarantee they will be successful or that a commercial agreement would be made public.
