In a sad and shocking case, a cargo ship carrying 43 crew with nearly 6,000 cattle sank off Japan after reportedly losing an engine in rough seas.

As per a survivor, the sea was rough which was caused by Typhoon Maysak. According to The Guardian report, only one person survived, who is a Filipino crew member. He has been identified as Sareno Edvarodo, who was rescued late on Wednesday after Japanese navy P-3C surveillance aircraft spotted him at sea.

The crew spotted him wearing a life vest and waving to the team while bobbing in the water. A spokesman for the Japanese coast guard’s regional headquarters said that Edvarodo, told rescuers the ship capsized before sinking.

Currently, the search for the rest of the crew members and ship continues but there are hardly any more signs of survivors. Reports suggest that the crew of the freighter includes 39 seamen from the Philippines, two from New Zealand, and two from Australia.
