Bulgarian police are investigating the rape and killing of a television reporter and presenter 30-year-old Viktoria Marinova, whose body was dumped near the Danube River in the town of Ruse, northern Bulgaria, on Saturday. Authorities found her to be brutally raped and strangulated.

Marinova is known to come up with explosive reports but Interior Minister Mladen Marinov said on Monday that there was no evidence to suggest the killing was linked to her work.

Bulgarian police said they are working on all possible scenarios, examining links to both her personal and professional life, reports The Quint.
