Breaking: Multiple “Bomb Blasts” at Popular Holiday Spot
Home > News Shots > World newsOne of the popular holiday spots in the World, Bangkok has been hit by multiple bomb blasts on August 2 (Friday). The reports reveal the blasts happened in several segments on Friday morning. As per ANI, at least four people were injured when the bomb blasted at the Thai Capital.
It was reported the blasts happened while the city was hosting a regional security meeting of foreign ministers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), along with representatives from the United States, China and Russia. Renu Suesattaya, the local official had been quoted as saying “Three people received slight injuries from shrapnel,"
Further, the reports revealed that “Ping Pong” bombs were hidden in bushes by the road. On the northern side of the city, the officials discovered three other bombs around a government complex hosting several ministeries. Sources from Thai media had reported two other blasts near a Skytrain station in the city’s Silom business district including one close to the famous downtown skyscraper.
People who witnessed the blasts had claimed a security guard was hurt close to the 77-story King Power Mahanakhon building. The Thai police have taken the area under their control and ran through a complete search operation. Apart from the convicted blasts, some unconfirmed sources say there were several other devices found across the city.
Earlier in 2017 Bangkok was hit by a series of bomb blasts for combating against Thailand’s then-military junta. Later, a man was arrested and sent to jail for planting a bomb that injured 21 people at a hospital.
