Former US President Barack Obama criticized the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and called it an “absolute chaotic disaster.”

This statement was passed by Barack Obama in a leaked web call that he had with former members of his administration on Friday night. He also said in the same web call that the rule of law is in danger since the Justice Department recently decided to drop charges against Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in the Russia Probe.

This audio was first obtained by Yahoo news. Obama first pushes his former staff members to join him in rallying behind Joe Bidden as he “prepares to take on Trump in the November presidential election.”

"What we're fighting against is these long-term trends in which being selfish, being tribal, being divided, and seeing others as an enemy, that has become a stronger impulse in American life. It's part of the reason why the response to this global crisis has been so anemic and spotty " Obama told his former staffers.

He also mentioned that, "It would have been bad even with the best of governments. It has been an absolute chaotic disaster when that mindset -- of 'what's in it for me' and 'to heck with everybody else' when that mindset is operationalized in our government."

The United States by far leads the world in the number of coronavirus infections, at nearly 1.3 million, and deaths, with more than 77,000.
