VIDEO: Australia is on Fire; 8000 Animals and 480 Million Birds Dead

An extensive bushfire which has been of greatest concern for Australia took the lives of 8000 kolas (Australian native animal) and few humans.

Reportedly it is the 30 per cent of the total population in New South Wales mid-north Coast region, Australia. The country has seen the hottest temperature of the year reaching almost 50-degree celsius in the last month.

Ecologists from the University of Sydney believe that more than 480 million birds, animals and reptiles have already been lost to the fire. The hashtag #PrayForAustralia started trending on twitter. Many netizens shared the grave situation in Australia through videos and heartbreaking pictures.

"Australia is on fire. Nearly half a billion animals have been killed with more than 14.5 million acres burned. This is climate change," tweeted one user with the video of the blazing fire.

Among thousands of twitter users, Tamil actor Mahendran also shared his message for the situation.
