Apple CEO Tim Cook to Meet Narendra Modi During India Visit?
Home > News Shots > World newsTech titan Apple had intended to sell directly to Indian consumers through its online and offline stores. The idea was to launch the online store this month and the offline outlets (one in Mumbai and Delhi each) later.
But, according to a report in YourStory, these events have been delayed in a bid to mayhap coincide with Cook’s proposed India visit slated for mid-2020 and herald the launch of new iPhones, iPads, and other Apple devices later in the year.
This would be Cook’s second visit to India since 2016. "Apple is still working on the logistics of setting up the store, with the quarter between July and September set as the new deadline," according to MacRumours.
Rumours are widespread that it could even be 2021 before the stores are open.
