Massive Earthquake Hits Pakistan and Pok! Several Dead, Many Injured!

Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir experienced a massive earthquake of 6.3 magnitude on Tuesday leaving eight people including three children dead and over 100 injured as of 7.30pm today (September 24).

The cities which felt tremors include Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, and Jhelum. Photos and videos by media show collapsed buildings and cracked roads in Mirpur, a town in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

The Indian Meteorological Department said a 40 km depth earthquake hit the India-Pakistan border region at around 4:30 pm and no loss of life or property has been reported so far.

"The quake was 10 kilometres deep and was felt in most of Punjab province, some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The worst-hit was Mirpur, Azad Kashmir," Pakistan's chief meteorologist Muhammad Riaz was quoted as saying by Mint.

Speaking about the damages caused in Delhi, Head of operations at the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) J L Gautam told Mint that Delhi would have not been affected much but several villages with poor construction might get damaged.
