According to reports, tech giant WhatsApp is all set to roll out a new feature for groups. The latest feature will give the user the option to decide whether to join a group or not.

With the current setup, anybody can add you in a WhatsApp group. One can only exit or mute the group. However, with the new feature, one needs permission to add a person in a WhatsApp group. This feature has been made available only on the beta version of WhatsApp and that too on iOS devices only. The feature will soon be made available on all platforms.

Users can activate the feature by following the route: Settings>Account>Privacy>Groups. Under the 'Groups' option, users can mention 'who can add me to groups' by selecting either, 'Everyone', 'My Contacts' or 'Nobody'. The default option currently is 'Everyone'.
