Reportedly, WhatsApp will be unveiling a big feature called Disappearing Messages. The feature allows the users to send and receive messages which would disappear after a certain time limit. However, the feature is still a work-in-progress and it was spotted by WABeta.

By using the feature on WhatsApp's beta version 2.19.275, Gadgets Now listed the following steps to handle the 'Disappearing Messages' feature. Initially, the feature would be available only for Group Chats and it may be available for Private chats later.

The feature can be accessed under 'Group Settings'.

Even in Groups, only admins can access the feature and is not available for everyone.

Once you click on the "Disappearing Messages" option under Group settings, you will have an option to select message expiration time.

As of now, the duration is set from 5 seconds to 1 hour.

Another limitation of the "Disappearing Messages" feature is it has an option to choose "All" or "none". Therefore, users may not be able to select individual messages.

Reports say that the feature will be first rolled out on Android and later find its way to iOS too.
