Recently, a Bengaluru woman landed on a trap after Googling Zomato's customer care number. She dialed them and after registering she found out that her entire account was clean swept.
In a similar case in Chennai, another customer was conned by a fake customer care number. After being asked his UPI id, passowrd and bank details, he suspected fraud. He gave a wrong pin and soon he received two SMSs from bank for two transactions for Rs.5000 and Rs.10 which was failed due to incorrect pin.
Zomato has registered a complaint regarding the incidents and there were also several cases in the past.
Even with EPFO, a scamster changed the number of the office in Mumbai on Google and scammed several people.
Few months ago, Amul had issued a legal notice to Google claiming fake campaigns regarding Parlours and Distributors have started through fake websitesusing Google search ads.
