Teachers' lovely gesture towards this poverty-stricken schoolgirl is winning hearts!

People have been moved by the sweet gesture of these teachers' who helped a poverty-stricken schoolgirl near Keeranur.

Keeranur

Lekkanapatti Government High School is located near Keeranur. More than 200 students are studying there. Headmaster Anthony and fellow teachers are not only involved in educating the students but also are trying to get rid of the misery the students are facing in the name of poverty. So, the teachers of this school have come together to help a student named Sasikala who is studying in this school. 

Poverty

Sasikala is a 7th standard student of Lekkanapatti Government High School. Her father had passed away 10 years ago and her mother Maria goes to work and puts all the efforts to support her daughter Sasikala and son to study hard.

Help

Lekkanapatti Government High School teachers, who were aware of the hardships faced by Maria, decided to help her. Following this, the teachers bought 5 goats and gifted them to Maria.

Funds for this have been raised through the school's Red Cross Society. School teachers have also donated money to help the lady and her children.

Self-confidence

The school teachers presented the lambs to Maria in the presence of Sami Sathyamoorthy, Principal Education Officer of Pudukai District. Sathyamoorthy, at the event, told Maria that she had the confidence to raise goats and thereby alleviate poverty and provide a good education for her children.
