The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation and Tamilnadu State Express Transport Corporation have issued new rules for parking state transport buses at restaurants.

During long distance bus services to and from Tamil Nadu, buses usually stop at restaurants between trips. Amid complaints that the public is facing many difficulties in this regard, regulations have now been issued for bus stop restaurants belonging to the State Transport Corporation operating across Tamil Nadu. The report states that only vegetarian food should be prepared and basic amenities should be available.

It has been informed that only vegetarian food should be prepared in the restaurants where the buses belonging to the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation are parked. The condition states that restaurants must have a price list and not charge more than the MRP. Also, the food served in restaurants should be of good quality and tasty.



Toilet facilities should be kept clean in areas where restaurant premises are located. In addition, toilet services should be provided free of charge to travelers and bio toilets should be set up. The provision also states that CCTV cameras must be installed in the restaurant premises for the safety of passengers.

The restaurant should have electrical connection and generator facility. A condition has been issued by the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation and the State Express Transport Corporation that commuter bills and purified drinking water should be provided for items purchased by passengers.
