Earthquake near Dindigul? People panic as they hear loud noises!

A sudden earthquake was reported in Keeranur village near Oddanchatram in Dindigul district at around 2 am today. Residents in the area said they heard noises like a bomb exploding. As a result, many have fled their homes and taken refuge on the roadsides.
More than 10 houses in the area were reported to have suffered minor cracks. People in the area said that there was a lot of noise during the quake and the utensils kept in the house fell too.
Palani Kottatsiyar Sivakumar and Oddanchatram Vattatsiyar Muthuchamy who came to know about it are conducting an investigation. The statistics department has also been informed about the incident. The cause of the noise will be known only after the statistics department visits and inspects it. This incident has frightened the people of the area.
