Rajinikanth’s statements at the 50th celebrations of Thuglak magazine created quite the stir. The statements he made in particular with Periyar and the Ram-Sita idol issue led to many outfits protesting against the actor and demanding an apology from him regarding the same. The outfits alleged that he had distorted facts.

Meeting reporters outside his Poes Garden residence, the Superstar, pulling out a copy of the Outlook Magazine said that he hasn’t said anything that was wrong and insisted that the magazine also had details of the account he delivered on the golden anniversary celebrations of Thuglak magazine, founded by late Cho Ramasamy. He further added that he had evidence to support his claims and said he wouldn’t apologise to anyone.

Addressing a reporter’s question that the other side has also been releasing statements that provide his speech wrong, Rajinikanth said that they have their sources, he has his sources and added before going back inside his house that it’s best the issue is forgotten.
