Washermanpet-DMS stretch of Chennai Metro to open soon! Here's when
Home > Tamil Nadu newsAccording to reports, the last stretch of Phase 1 of the Chennai Metro between Washermanpet and AG-DMS will soon be opened for public use. With the initiation of the Metro stretch, now residents of Washermanpet can be easily connected to the airport in just 45minutes.
The last stretch will be reportedly inspected by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) KA Manoharan on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The stretch will reportedly be thrown open to the public by the end of January.
The stretch between Washermanpet and AG-DMS will have Mannadi, High Court, Chennai Central, Government Estate, LIC and Thousand Lights stations in between. The day of the inauguration is yet to be ascertained as the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is yet to hear back on the invitation sent to the Ministry of Urban Development.
