Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe Tamil Nadu Police is once again going viral for the offbeat punishments they have given to lockdown violators. Recently, in order to spread awareness about the coronavirus pandemic, TN police took inspiration from the dancing Ghana pallbearers whose video clip has been trending over the past few months.
Various memes and videos have been made based on the “dancing coffin” team from Ghana. “The performance is a part of funeral service and it was carried out on request of the family”, The New Indian Express cited in its report.
Based on the popular meme Cuddalore Police made a video where the police punish a boy who breaks social distancing norms and steps out without masks. The police could be seen carrying this boy in a similar manner and dancing to the music. Finally, in this video the boy is taken into an ambulance. The video ended with one of the cops giving advice and spreading awareness about the nature of the pandemic and the importance of following social distancing norms and staying at home.
