Travellers who violate the government's order to self-quarantine will have to face legal action, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Vijayabaskar told in a tweet on Monday.

The list of travellers is being handed over to several district administrations and police for tracking down. Legan action will be taken against those violating the guidelines, the Minister further said.

"Though tracked, some of the travellers violate Govt’s strict order to #selfquarantine, thus becoming a threat for community transmission. The list of travellers is handed over to district admin & police for tracking, if anyone violates the order, legal action will be taken," the tweet read.

When individuals with travel history refuse to isolate themselves, it possesses a great threat of community transmission.

In an exclusive interview to Behindwoods on Sunday, Vijayabaskar said necessary precautionary measures are being put in place by the government to ensure the prevention of community spread in the state.

He also appealed to people to stay indoors and cooperate with the government.
