VIDEO: After getting hit by Car, Chennai Man left to Cling on to the Running Vehicle!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsIn a scary incident, a man who crashed his car against a two-wheeler tried to flee from the spot without realizing that the biker had fallen on top of the car’s roof. The driver continued to drive his car for around 2 km. The biker who fell on top of the car was forced to cling on to his dear life for almost 2 kms. The traffic cops chased and stopped the car, following which they rescued the biker.
The incident took place near Maduravoyal on Sunday night. The biker was identified as 27-year-old Ranjithkumar from Ayapakkam, a private firm employee who was on his way to Vanagaram and was hit by the speeding car on the Vanagaram- Ambattur road.
"In the impact, Ranjithkumar, thrown off his bike, fell on the roof of the car. However, the car tried to flee the spot, without the driver, Ganesamoorthy of Virugambakkam, realizing that the accident victim was lying on the roof. The police personnel who were regulating the traffic were shocked to witness the accident and chased the car and stopped him two kilometres away," a senior traffic police officer told The New Indian Express.
The Driver was identified as Ganesamoorthy, a wholesale vegetable vendor in Koyambedu market complex who was driving to the temporary vegetable market in Tirumazhisai.
The video was shot by the patrol police. The video depicts how the police tried to stop the car by chasing and shouting at the driver.
Towards the end of the video, Ganesamoorthy could be seen pleading to the police stating that he was unaware that he hit someone. The personnel questioned him about the broken windshield and asked whether he did not notice it.
By this time, Ranjithkumar was covered in blood and was unable to move. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Ganesamoorthy has been booked for rash riving. As per media reports, he has been let off on bail by the Koyambedu traffic Police but his car has been seized.
At present the victim is undergoing treatment and is reportedly in a stable condition.
