Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe Greater Chennai Corporation has released an updated list of containment zones in the district.
Chennai has been emerging as the COVID-19 hotpost of Tamil Nadu after hundreds of workers of Koyambed Market tested positive for the virus after returning to their respective districts. The most affected district owing to the Koyambed cluster being Cuddalore.
Following the spike, the CMDA decided to shut Koyambed Market until further notice. Alternative arrangements have been made at Thirumazhisai for wholesale alone.
The state government has decided to postpone the opening date of tasmac liquor shops in Chennai alone indefinitely while those in the non-containment zones of other districts will open by 7 May.
