As the people turn in large numbers to cast their vote, three senior citizens die while waiting to franchise their vote. A 63-year-old man from Tamil Nadu’s Erode district died of a cardiac arrest while waiting to cast his vote on Thursday morning. The man has been identified as Murugesan S, a resident of Sivagiri in Erode.

According to The News Minute, Murugesan was waiting in line at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School polling station in Sivagiri when he fainted. Voters nearby tried to help him and he was rushed to Sivagiri Government Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The cause of his death has been determined to be a cardiac arrest. His body is currently at the hospital.

In another case, 95-year-old man suddenly collapsed and died while he was waiting in a long queue to cast his vote in Kansamari booth of Sanakhemundi Assembly constituency under Aska Lok Sabha segment in the second phase polls. The deceased has been identified as Natabara Behera.

According to Odisha Sun Times, Sources the man had gone to a polling station at Kansamari for voting along with his family members this morning. While waiting in a queue outside the polling booth, Natabara fainted on the ground.His family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. It is suspected that the old man died due to sunstroke.

While another surprising case, an old woman aged 80 died while waiting on line to cast vote. Voting began at 7 am on Thursday in Tamil Nadu. The Election Commission had cancelled polling in the Vellore Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday after the Income Tax Department (IT) seized unaccounted cash from a warehouse allegedly belonging to the relative of a DMK functionar.
