National Green Tribunal has given the nod ahead for Vedanta owned Sterlite Industries to reopen in Tuticorin, but only to carry out administrative works.
However, it warned strictly against carrying out production works since the Tamil Nadu government had ordered its closure, after 13 civilians paid with their lives in a fracas with cops, demanding the copper plant be shut down due to the ill effects it imprinted on people and surroundings.
