Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsTamil Nadu youngster was arrested by the police after he had made a call in which he has threatened to Kidnap Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy. According to the report by The Hindu, he was traced through his phone number and further investigations are underway.
On July 19 (Friday), afternoon, a random call was received by the police at the control room. The caller had reportedly said that “I will Kidnap CM Edappadi Palaniswamy,” and hung up. The call has startled the police who later informed the news to higher officials. After receiving orders, the police were on the hunt to nab the caller.
The police investigation traced the caller from Thillainagar, Trichy who was identified as Rahmadullah. The reports further reveal that he had been working in fast food, but lost his job very recently. Therefore due to the depression, he has called the police and threatened to kidnap CM Edappadi K Palaniswamy.
Usually, police are used to random “bomb threatening’ calls. However, threatening a higher official of a state seems to have alarmed the police. While police are investigating the arrested caller, it is expected that there is no deeper intention other than just the burst of a depressed young man.
