The Kathipara bridge in Guindy is one of the busiest junctions where a number of vehicles keep the place occupied even after the peak hours. Traffic sub-inspector Natraj who belongs to Tambaram Sanatorium was hit by a lorry carrying loads of cement while he maintained left instead of going straight towards his intended destination.

According to the report by The Hindu, Natraj was 56 years old and working as a traffic sub-inspector at St.Thomas Mount. He was on his way home from work at 11.am today driving his two-wheeler on the Kathipara bridge. He was supposed to go straight to go to his destination but he maintained left, thus confusing the lorry that was pacing at a normal speed behind him.

The situation became worse when the Lorry driver took a left while Natraj twisted his direction straight from the left which made the Lorry crash him in a flash. The Lorry run over Natraj which made him lose his life on the spot. The incident created unrest at the Kathipara flyover.

Inspector Ravi Kumar from St.Thomas Mount Traffic intelligence bureau arrived at the spot and made necessary arrangements for the disposal of Natraj’s body to send for post-mortem. The initial investigation revealed the name of the Lorry driver who happens to be Sathish, a 37-year-old man from Kumbakonam. According to The Hindu report, police have arrested the driver and registered a case against him.
