TNSTC Conductor Dies, 14 Other Injured As Bus Rams Into Lorry In Chennai
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsIn a shocking case, one person has been killed and 14 others, including the driver have been seriously injured after a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus rammed a lorry.
This incident took place in Thathankuppam area on early Saturday morning.
As per The Hindu reports, the Villivakkam police stated that the bus was coming from Nellore and was heading towards Koyambedu. At around 2.40 am morning, when the bus reached near the Thathankuppam flyover, it suddenly rammed into a lorry going ahead.
In the sudden collision, the conductor who was identified as Veerakumar got seriously hurt and was bleeding. While the bus driver identified as Govindasamy and 13 others got seriously injured in the accident.
With the help of locals, the injured were rushed to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for treatment. During medical care and treatment, conductor Veerakumar succumbed to his injuries.
The others who also got injured in the collision are currently undergoing treatment.
After initial investigation, Villivakkam police suspect that the driver might have been sleepy and dozed off which caused the accident.
A case has been registered in this matter and further investigation is on.
