Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan Speak out to Save Surjith from Borewell!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsEfforts to save 2-year-old Surjith who is trapped down an abandoned borewell have entered the third day with rescue teams digging a parallel hole in an attempt to save the child.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have joined the rescue operations while Health and Family Welfare Minister C Vijayabaskar has been camping at the spot since Friday.
On Friday evening, Surjith fell into the 600-feet borewell while playing near his house in Nadukattupatti. Oxygen is being supplied to the boy.
Meanwhile, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan has expressed concern over the child's safe return insisting that the Government should declare leaving borewells unclosed a crime which will attract a hefty fine.
On the other hand, speaking to the press, Actor Rajinikanth said both the Government and parents should stay precautious.
