After days of claiming to have found treatment for COVID-19, Thanikachalam, a Siddha doctor, from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, has been arrested again, while still in prison. Days ago, he was arrested and was remanded in prison, but had applied for bail. Today, the court has rejected his bail plea, and police arrested him on two more counts of offences.

Earlier, there were several videos claiming that Siddha, Homeopathy and other non-Allopathic treatments could be used to treat COVID-19. Among the many videos, Thanikachalam claimed that two individuals who had contacted COVID-19 were cured within 3 days after being treated by him, but the reports were false, as per The News Minute.

He had also criticised Central and State Governments for not listening to him and not recognising his medicines and treatments, and letting people die because of delayed allopathic method of treatments.

Currently, there is no vaccine or cure for COVID-19 while patients are being treated based on their symptoms.
