Schools, Colleges In 3 Districts To Remain Closed Due To Heavy Rain In Tamil Nadu
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsDue to heavy rain, officials and authorities have declared holiday for schools and colleges in three districts across Tamil Nadu on November 28.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted more rain over Tamil Nadu by Friday, whereas several parts in the state might receive light rain.
The first district to have school and colleges closed is Kancheepuram (unified district); while others are Vellore district inclusive of Ranipet and Tirupattur. This order was issued by Collectors of the each districts.
According to The Hindu reports, not just schools, even varsities were colsed today. The University of Madras had cancelled the semester exams which was to be taken place on November 28.
A new date for the exams will be announced later in the week confirmed K. Pandian, Controller of Examination. It was not only, University of Madras, Thiruvalluvar University in Serkadu had also cancelled the semester exams for the same; and kept the date for December 3, confirmed Senthil Kumar, Controller of Examinations.
