December is Likely to Receive Rain for 20 Days; Brief Report
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe director of Chennai Metrological Department Puviarasan told that North East Monsoon rains would continue for 20 days in the month of December. He also revealed the percentage of rain registered and the forecast for the next 3 days as reported by Polimer.
While addressing the press in Chennai, Puviarasan confirmed that 15 Cm of rain has been registered in Tambaram for the past 24 hours. While Jeyamkondan received 10 cm of rain, Kaatumannarkovil and Sirgazhi got 8 and 7 cms of rain respectively.
Puviarasan further stated the Tamil Nadu will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next 3 days. Chennai is likely to get light to heavy rains. The North-East Monsoon will become stronger and the month of December will continue to receive rainfall for 20 days as per the report.
In the month of November, Tamil Nadu has received only 32 cm of rains (estimated 35 cm) and Chennai has received only 39 cm of rains (estimated 59 cm). Puviarasan also advised fishermen not to get into the parts of Srilankan South seas for the next 24 hours.
