TN May 22 Corona Update: 786 Fresh Cases, 4 Deaths and Other Details

Tamil Nadu on Friday, 22 May, reported 786 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state 14,753

Of the 786 fresh cases today, 91 are passengers returned from other States (Maharashtra - 66, Delhi – 13, West Bengal – 6, Andhra Pradesh – 2, Gujarat – 1, Madhya Pradesh – 1 Odisha – 1, Telangana - 1). One person returned from Philippines also tested positive.

Four persons succumbed to the virus on the date taking the death toll of the state to 98.

Total number of samples tested till date – 3,85,185

Total number of samples tested today – 12,653

Total number of persons tested till date – 3,67,939

Total number of persons tested today – 12,046

Total number of suspected individuals in isolation ward admission – 5349

Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 7128

Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 846
