TN has a total of 703 containment zones, says Govt

As on 26 June, a total of 703 containment zones are in the State. Chennai (104) has the maximum number of containment zones followed by Salem (84) and Thiruvannamalai (72).
Other districts on the list include Chengalpattu (16), Coimbatore (7), Cuddalore (64), Dindigul (13), Erode (2), Kallakurichi (11), Kancheepuram (19), Kanyakumari (1), Krishnagiri (5), Madurai (57), Nagapattinam (46), Pudukottai (2), Ramanathapuram (10), Ranipet (18), Sivagangai (6), Tenkasi (2), Thanjavur (19), Theni (4), Thiruvarur (2), Thoothukudi (4), Tirunelveli (5), Tirupattur (45), Tiruppur (26), Tiruvallur (38), Villupuram (13) and Virudhunagar (8).
Tamil Nadu on June 29 reported 3,949 new COVID-19 positive cases taking the tally to 86,224. For the first time, Chennai reported over 2,000 new cases. Death toll in the State jumped to 1141 after 62 persons succumbed to the virus on the day. A total of 47,749 patients have been discharged following treatment so far.
