Legal action on House Owners Who demand rent from Workers, and force Workers and Students to Vacate!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsTamil Nadu Government, through an order, has barred all landlords from demanding rent from workers, including the migrant workers, for a period of one month.
The order also tells the landlords not to force workers and students to vacate their premises.
Landlords who fail to comply with the order will face strict legal action.
“To ensure that where ever the workers, including the migrants, are living in rented accommodation, the landlords of those properties shall not demand payment of rent for a period of one month,” the order read.
“If any landlord is forcing labourers and students to vacate their premises, they will be liable for action.”
Tamil Nadu reported seven new positive cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, 31 March, taking the total number of positive cases to 74.
