TN Govt Portal Has 6,000 Jobs in Various Sectors Amid Crisis: Check Details Here!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsWith layoffs and salary cut being taken up in most of the private sectors, the Tamil Nadu government has come out to help working professionals who have lost their jobs or facing crisis amid the pandemic.
Weeks back, a job portal was launched by the state government that has thrown open employment opportunities across Tamil Nadu. As per Times of India (ToI) report, the website which was launched three weeks ago for posting openings in private enterprises, has so far notified about 6,000 jobs in various sectors.
Most of these jobs are from MSMEs, while few big companies, like Ashok Leyland, have also listed themselves in opening list.
There are nearly 440 employers, who have registered on the portal and 25,000 job seekers have enrolled for placements in regular, part-time trainee and apprentice positions. The jobs in this portal cater to every sector like automotive, agriculture, food processing, electronics, hardware and IT. Also, the salaries range from Rs 4,000 to Rs 50,000, ToI further reported.
Highlighting more about these jobs, the locations are at Hosur and Coimbatore, followed by Chennai and its other neighbouring districts.
“We have notified about 6,000 jobs in the private sector through the website. But interviews need to be conducted for a majority of jobs in person. This is an issue due to restrictions in movement," an official said. The official further stated that offer letters were issued to 125 job seekers after online interviews.
Meanwhile, Chairman of CII,TN state council, Hari K Thiagarajan said agriculture, pharmaceutical and IT sectors continued to recruit. “Several companies in other sectors are attempting to retain only the productive workforce,” he said.
