Good News! TN Govt Launches Home Delivery App For Seafood Lovers in Chennai

Amid lockdown across the country, the Tamil Nadu government has launched an app called ‘Meengal’. It is for seafood lovers in Chennai; this app will help to facilitate the delivery of seafood to households around government fish stalls. 

Currently, the Government-run fish stalls are located in Chennai at Anna Nagar, Santhome, Teynampet and Virugambakkam. The government has launched a mobile app with website www.meengal.com

According to a press release, Minister for Fisheries, D Jayakumar, stated that government has come up with a home delivery services for seafood to limited areas in the city through the website and a landline number 044-24956896. People living around government-owned fish stalls at Anna Nagar, Santhome, Teynampet, Virugambakkam and surrounding areas within 5 km can place their orders between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm during the lockdown period. 

Jayakumar further urged the public to curb their movement by ordering seafood through the app and the website.

As per a New Minute Report, the Chennai Corporation has launched a logo for the website, titled- Ithu Namma Ooru Meengal. The app has been designed to provide quality fish to customers. Also, this Meengal app is now available for download on Google Play store.
