Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsBREAKING: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami announced on Sunday that the Tuticorin custodial death case will be transferred to CBI after obtaining permission from Madurai Bench of Madras High Court to do so.
"After getting the High Court’s permission, we will transfer Jayaraj-Bennix case to CBI," he announced at a press conference in Salem.
The father- son duo allegedly died due to police brutality. It has led to widespread outrage in social media platforms across the country. The hashtags #JusticeForJayarajAndBennix and #JusticeForJayarajAndFenix have been trending on social media platforms since the incident came to the limelight.
Jayaraj and his son Bennicks, arrested for allegedly violating lockdown norms by keeping their electronic shop open. Their relatives have alleged that they were severely beaten and tortured at the Sathankulam Police station.
