"I asked OPS to Go and Sit Near Jaya's Tomb" Thuglak Editor Gurumurthy's Speech Creates Controversy
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe Editor of Thuglak magazine Swaminathan Gurumurthy recollected Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Paneerselvam's "Dharma Yutham" which became viral after Jaya's death. In his course of the speech at the Thuglak Golden Jubliee function, Gurumurthy said, " Sasikala was finalized as the Chief Minister and all the arrangements were happening in a college. During that time, OPS came to me and asked 'What shall we do sir'. I asked him 'Are you a man, Sir?'. Go and sit near Jayalalitha's tomb. Some luck will happen'.
The speech which Gurumurthy delivered on Sunday (November 24) became controversial and today the hashtag - #ஓபிஎஸ்நீங்கஆம்பளையா (OPSAreYouAMan) started trending on Twitter. Meanwhile, Gurumurthy clarified the meaning of his speech via his twitter handle. The translated version of his tweet is given below.
"While talking to OPS, I did not mention him specifically but all the AIADMK cadres in general. I asked why everybody was falling into Sasikala's feet without courage. Even OPS knows the meaning of my conversation. It was him who rescued AIADMK from Sasikala. I have a deep respect for him".
Gurumurthy also added in his speech that only Rajinikanth can bring a change in Tamil Nadu and he is not someone who wants to earn money by becoming Chief Minister.
