Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe Tamil Nadu government on Monday, 18 May, announced that salons in rural areas of the State can function from tomorrow (19 May).
However, those in Municipal Corporations, Municipalities and Town Panchayats will remmain closed. Salons in areas under Chennai Police limits will also not function.
Maintaining social distancing and wearing gloves and masks is mandatory in salons for both hair dressers and customers. Shop owners have been asked to disinfect the salons five times a day.
After 639 persons tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, Tamil Nadu has crossed the 11,000-mark (11,224 cases) in confirmed cases of the virus. Of the 639 fresh cases, 81 are returnees from other States including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Telangana and Andhra Prdesh.
