'May 14' TN Corona Updates: Death Toll Climbs to 66, 447 Fresh Cases Reported; Additional Details Listed

Tamil Nadu on Thursday, 14 May, reported 447 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state 9674.

Two persons succumbed to the virus on the date taking the death toll of the state to 66.

Details of Deaths:

A 43-year-old Male from Chennai with Chronic Kidney Disease on Dialysis / Chronic HCV infection / Systemic Hypertension admitted to RGGH died today due to Respiratory Failure / Pneumonia.

A 45-year-old Female from Chennai with Diabetes Mellitus / Systemic Hypertension / Hypothyroidism admitted to RGGH died yesterday due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome / Respiratory Failure.

The following is the COVID-19 statistics of Tamil Nadu as of 14 May:

Total number of active cases on date - 7365

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive today – 253/194/0

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date – 6389/3282/3

Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities – 58 (38 government and 20 private)

Total number of samples tested till date – 2,91,432

Total number of samples tested today – 11,965

Total number of persons tested till date – 2,80,023

Total number of persons tested today – 11,773

Total number of suspected individuals in isolation ward admission – 4614

Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 2240

Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 64
