TN Hotel In Trouble For Naming Chicken Dish After Veg Community

Hours after the dish was named, many Hindu groups objected to it and demanded and apology.
According to India Today reports, the hotel which is located in Madurai; had in one of its posters featured their special dish "Kumbakonam Iyer Chicken" in one of their advertisement which did not go down well with Brahmin associations and other Hindu groups.
Later in the day, the hotel issued an unconditional apology to the association and Hindu groups where they expressed regret for hurting the sentiments of the community. The hotel released a statement and said it will change the name.
"After Brahmin community representatives met us and raised serious objection to the name of Kumbakonam Iyer Chicken, we apologised for it. We will remove the ads for it from social media and are also doing away with the name," the statement read.
