Tamil Nadu government to reduce vehicle fine - details inside!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsThe new traffic rules act came into effect on September 1. Following which, violators are made to pay hefty fine and in some cases the fine has also been increased nearly 4 times.
It is done to prevent people from violating traffic rules and to avoid accidents. There has been strong opposition against the hefty fine and people have been fined as high as Rs. 67K.
Gujarat government has reduced the fine for not wearing helmet from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 500. Fine for not having license has been reduced from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 for cars and bikes respectively.
The new law is yet to be implemented in Tamil Nadu. News 18 reports, the government said, the fine will be revised and then law will be brought into act.
