CM Edappadi K Palanisamy Announces Compensation for Families of Frontline Workers who die of COVID-19!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsTamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy on Wednesday, April 22, announced a compensation for the families of frontline workers in the state who die of COVID-19 while on duty.
Families of health workers, sanitation workers, police and local body employees who succumb to the virus will receive Rs 50 lakh as compensation. One member of the family will also be entitled to a government job based on their qualification.
The Chief Minister also said the government take actions to ensure safe and respectful burial of the deceased.
Tamil Nadu reported 76 new positive cases of COVID-19 yesterday taking the total number of cases in the state to 1596. Death toll in the state jumped to 18 after an elderly in Chennai succumbed to the deadly virus.
